Bio-Tomato Tango
Together with Mercato: Biologique, we visit a tomato field in the region, discover different varieties, and pick them right on site. Afterwards, we head to the kitchen, where we creatively process the fresh tomatoes – fermented, pickled, and marinated raw.
At the Organic Tomato Tango, everything revolves around the queen of late summer: the tomato.
Together with Mercato: Biologique, we visit a local tomato field, explore different varieties, and harvest them right on site. Then we head to the kitchen to get creative with the fresh tomatoes – fermenting, pickling, and marinating them raw.
Along the way, we’ll learn how to preserve tomatoes at the height of their flavor – for the months when they’re no longer in season.
And of course, we’ll share a meal together in the end.

This is a donation-based workshop, especially aimed at young people, children, seniors, and people with a migration background – but everyone is welcome, whether you're new to the kitchen or a seasoned cook.
The event is organized by the Open Child and Youth Work Murten (OKJA) in collaboration with the Coolinarik Association.
