About the event

Tired of herbs in plastic packaging? Come with us to the forest around Murten and discover the world of wild herbs.

Joining us is Elmar, a retired game warden, cook, fisheries officer, and walking encyclopedia when it comes to nature and regional ecosystems. With him, we'll learn to safely identify edible spring herbs, harvest them responsibly, and see our surroundings in a new light.

We collect various spring herbs, see what else the forest has to offer, learn exciting things about our ecosystem and then prepare our finds together around the fire.

To finish, we cook our lunch over the fire, eat together and simply enjoy a good time in nature.

Important information about participation

This workshop is part of our Social Supper Club project.

The Social Supper Club is a series of cooking workshops where young people, seniors and newcomers to Switzerland come together to cook, exchange ideas and make new contacts.

The concept is simple: During the workshop, we learn together and get to know each other. Afterwards, we go a step further and jointly take over the catering for the Juvenalia festival on June 12th and 13th.

This is the ideal opportunity to strengthen the connections that have been formed and to put what has been developed together into practice.

If you are unable to actively participate in the implementation, you have the option of supporting the project with a non-binding donation of CHF 50.– / 70.– / 100.–.

A project supported by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network and the City of Freiburg.
